My mother is Vietnamese- she and her family emigrated from Laos after the Vietnam War. They came from extremely humble beginnings, coming over with nothing but the clothes on their backs and photos. I try to work hard and put forth kindness to honor them and the sacrifices they made to give me the life I have. Noodles- more specifically, a steaming hot bowl of savory pho- have always been a comfort to me throughout life. I could always guarantee a bowl of pho and sitting down to draw in my sketchbook could get me through hard times. This endeavor is to honor the hard times and the good times to come!
